Bio:

Verena Bauernschmidt is a doctoral student at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She studied economics at the Ruhr University Bochum and then worked in companies in Cologne, Berlin and Düsseldorf, focussing on the analysis of survey data. Her dissertation deals with the influence of stereotypes, social identities and social norms on environmentally friendly purchasing and consumer behaviour. Another of her research interests is gender economics. She has been working at the Chair of Health Economics since October 2023.
